Foxy Proxy WordPresss Plugin Launched

Today, I published Foxy Proxy on the WordPress repository. You can now download it at https://wordpress.org/plugins/foxy-proxy.

Who is the plugin intended for?

This plugin is a big timesaver for site builders who are in business of building multiple WordPress sites, either for themselves or for clients. For each site a number of standard pages are required:

• Terms And Conditions
• Privacy Statement
• Cookie Policy
• Affiliate Disclosure
• General Contact Form

Each of the pages is pretty much the same on each site. It is based on a legal statement or template but need to be localised with the specific details of the site details, the business owner and contact details, and to the services offered by the site.

Typical Configuration

For example on this site, I created the following list of placeholders (or proxies) to be replaced in the templates for the legal pages on the privacy and cookie policy pages:

The export, import facility means that when I build my next site, I can replace weeplugins.com by the new site's domain and maybe update the niche and I am good to go with minimum fuss.

The Pages tab on the plugin allows you to set up the plugin only to run on the selected pages. This means is only try to substitute the proxies on the 3 or four pages where it is required. This keeps the footprint of the plugin as small as possible.
